Neda Koprcina reaches singles final at ITA Texas Regional Championships

Texas senior Neda Koprcina advanced to finals of the ITA Texas Regional Championships with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Texas Tech’s Gabriela Talaba in the semifinals Sunday in Waco.

Koprcina will face second seed Blair Shankle of Baylor in the final Monday. Shankle topped sixth-seeded Rachel Pierson of Texas A&M 6-2, 6-3 in the semis.

The winner will get a spot in the singles draw at the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. The ITA Indoor Championships features a 32-player singles draw and is the most prestigious collegiate tennis event in the fall season.
