WATCH: Jarrett Allen throws first pitch at New York Mets game

Being an NBA lottery pick has its perks.

On Friday, Texas freshman and recent Brooklyn Nets draftee Jarrett Allen had the honor of throwing out the first pitch before the New York Mets’ game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Allen’s pitch went a little high, but what do you expect from a 7-foot center with a 7-5 wingspan?

As it turns out, Allen was just following the advice he got from Mets players before the game. Click here to watch a behind-the-scenes video put out by the Nets.

“It was nerve wracking,” he said in the video. “I was looking around before I went out there, and there was a lot more people than I thought there would be. I just tried to do what I practiced.”
