Point guard R.J. Davis is one of Marquette's top 2020 recruiting targets.

The Marquette men's basketball team returned over the weekend from a trip to Spain and France.

The Golden Eagles' coaching staff immediately got back to recruiting and scheduled a couple of official visits for September.

R.J. Davis, one of MU's top 2020 targets, will visit campus Sept. 27-29, according to recruiting analyst Andrew Slater.

Davis' trip to Milwaukee is sandwiched between official visits to Pittsburgh and North Carolina. He already has made an official visit to Georgetown.

The 5-foot-11, 164-pound Davis is No. 84 in the 247Sports composite rankings for the 2020 class. He plays for Archbishop Stepinac High School in New York and for the New York Rens AAU team.

MU has recruited Davis hard and the Golden Eagles were in on the guard before his profile skyrocketed with an impressive summer. He is a smaller guard who has the ability to create shots and finish against longer defenders, similar to current MU star Markus Howard.

MU also has an official visit scheduled with point guard A.J. Hoggard for Sept. 17-19, according to prephoops.com.

The 6-3, 185-pound Hoggard is No. 62 for 2020 in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Hoggard will also visit Providence, Mississippi, Michigan State and Florida.

The Pennsylvania native plays for Huntington Prep in West Virginia and for the PSA Cardinals on the AAU circuit. He is an attacking guard with a quick first step who can break down defenses.

MU has one commitment for its 2020 class, from Baltimore's Justin Lewis, but the Golden Eagles still have five open scholarship slots.
