Texas outfielder Max Belyeu, center, celebrates a home run with Longhorns' dugout during a March 9 game at Texas Tech. Belyeu had a huge game in Texas' 11-1 win over Baylor on Sunday, tying a school record with three home runs, including a grand slam and six RBIs.

Behind Max Belyeu's big day at the plate, Texas bashed Baylor on Sunday and secured a series win against the Bears.

Belyeu hit three home runs in the Longhorns' 11-1 win, which was called after Texas took a 10-run lead in the eighth inning. One of Belyeu's homers was a grand slam. He finished with six RBIs.

Belyeu is the first Longhorn to hit three home runs in a game since Porter Brown's power surge in a 2023 game against West Virginia. Belyeu's three-homer game ties a school record. Eight Longhorns have now accomplished that feat.

Texas (15-9, 4-2) also got a two-run homer from Kimble Schuessler.

The Longhorns were anchored defensively by a seven-inning start by sophomore Max Grubbs, who allowed five hits and one run. Over his last two weekend starts, Grubbs has pitched 13 innings and given up two earned runs.

Sunday marked perhaps the final meeting between Texas and Baylor as conference rivals. Texas now holds a 257-114-4 lead in the all-time series.

Baylor dropped to 8-15 overall, 3-6 in the Big 12.
