Atwood tied the program's single-season record of 66 RBIs with a single up the middle in the fifth inning that scored shortstop Vivi Martinez. With that RBI, Atwood moved into a tie with Taylor Thom (2013) and Lindsey Stephens (2014) for most RBIs in a season.

First baseman Katie Cimusz sealed the win with a three-run homer later in the fifth.

Texas returns to action Thursday at McCombs Field for a nonconference game against Nicholls State before resuming Big 12 play next weekend against visiting Iowa State.
