To begin its week, the Texas women's basketball team addressed a need on its roster.

Texas announced on Monday that former Miami post Kyla Oldacre has signed with the Longhorns. Oldacre's transfer to Texas comes one week after UT received a commitment from ex-Michigan guard Laila Phelia.

The 6-foot-6 Oldacre spent the past two seasons with the Hurricanes. Over 54 games, she averaged 4.6 points and 3.9 rebounds. Oldacre started 21 times this past season and was a member of a Miami team that reached the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament in 2023.

Oldacre was also a McDonald's All-American in 2022.

The arrival of Oldacre helps Texas address a pressing need. Due to the transfers of DeYona Gaston, Khadija Faye, Amina Muhammad and Tionna Herron, Texas was only projected to have four players taller than 6-1 on its roster next season. Taylor Jones and Abbie Boutilier were the only Longhorns who were seen as centers.

On Monday, Muhammad announced that her next stop is Oregon. Gaston has signed with Auburn.
