Texas women’s golf team takes 10th at Dick McGuire Invitational

The Texas women’s golf team finished in 10th place at the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Tuesday.

The Longhorns, ranked No. 11, shot 293 on the day to finish at 880 overall, 16 shots over par.

Oklahoma State took the top spot at 1-under-par 863.

Greta Isabella Voelker led the Longhorns, tying for 18th place after shooting 218, 2 over par.

“She did some great things last year, which earned her Big 12 freshman of the year,” said associate head coach Kate Golden in a UT press release. “We look forward to seeing her game develop this season.”

Kaitlyn Papp, a freshman, finished one shot behind Voelker and tied for 20th. Papp had the best round for Texas in tournament. She shot 70 in the first round.

“Kaitlyn went to work this week,” said Golden. “It was the first tournament of her collegiate career and she played her way to a top-20 finish.”

Emilee Hoffman rounded out three top-25 finishes for Texas, shooting 220 overall to finish tied for 25th.

Bianca Pagdanganan of Arizona and Andrea Lee of Stanford tied for first place at 8-under 208.

Maddie Luitwieler shot 10-over-par 226 while Maren Cipolla shot 19-over-par 235.
